Benefits
Personalized Credit Assistance
If you don’t have a credit history, or do but it’s damaged, you could have issues getting a loan with a low rate from a bank. Credit unions are more forgiving and will work with you if you’re having problems.
Better Rates, Lower Fees
We offer better rates on loans and savings accounts than most banks, car dealerships, and payday lenders, and offer fee-free checking and savings accounts that don’t require a substantial minimum balance.
Community Powerhouse
We are a financial cooperative which means we keep money circulating in your community. The money you deposit as a member is used to provide loans to other members–members who are your neighbors, coworkers, friends, and family. Money continues to recirculate in our community of members and provides more local economic benefit.
Not-for-Profit, Member-Owned
A credit union is a not-for-profit, member-owned version of a bank. As a member, you are an owner which means you get to vote at annual meetings to select the Board of Directors. Unlike banks whose primary beneficiaries are its shareholders who may or may not be customers of the bank, we guarantee you as a beneficiary when you become a member. You share in our success with lower fees and interest rates on loans and higher interest rates on savings products.
Since we are not-for-profit, we don’t pay taxes on earnings–another unique feature that separate us from banks. Earnings are returned to you as better interest rates on loan and savings products and lower fees.
Federally Insured
As a member of a federally chartered credit union, your savings are insured up to $250,000 by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), a U.S. government agency.
Education
Part of our mission and purpose is to educate you about your money and your credit–how to wisely spend and save your money, ways to make your money do more, why credit is important, how to leverage good credit, etc.
